[Debate] Why Did Rose Quartz Want to Have Steven?

Why did she decide to have a child? What is the bigger reasoning behind Rose Quartz having a child? Is it because she wanted to be that much closer to humanity and build a bridge between gems and humans? Or is it some kind of war tactic?

We're always going to come back to Rose Quartz and Steven. They're special, somehow. They're not ordinary gems by any stretch of the imagination but what is it that is making them special? Why did Rose give up her physical form for this?

If she wanted to build a bridge between humans and gems, well, why did she want to? What purpose will it serve?

I don't knoooow and it bothers me and I want to know! xD

I can't help but to feel that its something more than simply wanting to have a child, because I mean... that's quite the dedication to simply cease to exist to bring another life into the world. I just find it hard to believe that after everything Rose went through in her life, and all of the love she has for it, that she'd want to end her own journey prematurely.

And I always am reminded by the fact that in her video for Steven where she says "Because you're going to be something extraordinary. You're going to be a human being." The wording of it always strikes a chord, even though I'm not 100% certain how to think of it yet xD

Or! Random thought: What if Steven was a mistake? :x Like she had no idea that it would lead to her ceasing to exist until it was too late? We know she had been with other guys but none of them mattered until Greg, so what if Steven is the result of a "fusion" between full-gems and humans?

I don't know, my thoughts are all over the place now and I don't know if I am making sense xD I'll return back once I have gotten a hold over my rambling brain haha

Kind of branching off of Pearl's thought of what if Steven was a mistake, what if Rose didn't expect him to take on her Gem traits? What if she thoroughly planned for it to be a human baby but when it was time to give birth something happened and she disappeared before they could do anything about it? I mean, it's been said time and time again that a hybrid like Steven has never been heard of before. What if Rose banked on that too much and didn't think to plan for if the baby took on her gem?

Cause what really gets me is in Lion 3, she says "Your going to be a human being." Not a hyrbid or a Gem, a human. As in, fully human. Like she doesn't think he's going to take any of her Gem traits at all.

Idk at this point I'm just thinking out loud but it's definitely an interesting topic xD I REALLY hope they explain this at some point in the show xD

Well Rose knew she was going to disappear before she had Steven. She said in one of the videos that she and Steven cannot exist at the same time. So, she knew. How she passed on the gem is another mystery.

I know about that book - read it and all that. It's a good place to start. It may be 100% all true or it may just be what Rose told them, keeping the rest a secret. It's probably the former but it's fun to think about. I mean it's impressive that complicated gem DNA could combine with human DNA to begin with. I'm amazed it worked so well. Because of that, it's an interesting theory to suggest that Rose had a proto child once to see if she even could have one.
