Which Gem Do You Identify With?

The title says it all. Now we just need the why.

I identify with Pearl, Peridot, and Ruby, the most out of all the gems.

Pearl because I can be obsessive, anxious, worrisome, and a bit socially awkward.

Ruby because she's very passionate and intense - as am I. Sometimes, I can be a hot head, too. She's also very emotional and irrational and tbh I have those moments as well.

Peridot because she is considered dorky and geeky as well as socially awkward, but she is learning and trying to understand those around her. She's also obviously caring, as we see towards Lapis and wants to fix her past mistakes.

So, who do you identify with most, and why?

Well, first of all :

1. Steven: His unconditional love towards everyone is truly inspiring. I literally used to be him when I was like about 10 years old. I'm not joking, I used to leave my house knock on people's doors and try to bond with them. But I changed, I learned how cruel some people can be. However I'm trying, social anxiety has claimed me for the worst but I'm giving it my all to fight against it! That's when the next one comes in.

2. Pearl: Her general attitude, constantly needing acceptance is very close to how I act. It's not attention that I seek, it's the slight confirmation that although I am so introverted and feel so different from everybody; I am still a human being! Self-worth is questioned, low self esteem, etc.

3. Amethyst: She's very relaxed most of the time, lazy, etc. But deep down, she's very emotionally unstable. I can relate to that because I always act so relaxed about everything! But I'm not... I'm constantly worrying about every little thing and how everyone perceives me it's so frustrating.. But she inspired me. "I only feel how I wanna feel" is an amazing quote. Not to let others judge you and be who you are!

I'd say I'm either Pearl or some kind of depressed Amethyst.
Most of the time I'm chill to the point of it not being okay, then there's all the eating I do, haha. I also worry about how I wasn't made quite right.
The rest of the time I'm a Pearl trying my best to do things perfectly and as graceful as possible. Just trying to keep my cool but filled to the brim with anxiety and a sense of loss.

My friend once told me I was more of a Garnet, high praise I'd say! She said it was because of my comedic comebacks with a deadpan face.

It's one of the many things I love about this show - the gems are so well done we can identify with plenty of them (even more than one).

Rose Quartz: I identify with her in the fact that I am curious about other cultures. My biggest dream is to spend the rest of my life wandering the Earth, learning about other cultures and people and basically just experiencing as much as I can. So the fact that she is so completely enamored with human culture is something that I relate to a lot. I also like to sing, and I'm currently dating a man-child

Lapis: I really started to relate to her after Same Old World came out. All I want in my life is freedom, and a lot of times I feel like I dont have it. I just want to make my own decisions and my own mistakes and live my life how I WANT and I feel trapped sometimes, just like she did.

Pearl: Anxiety. She hits the nail on the head and I can easily relate to her struggle with it.

Peridot: She's awkward with others and kinda freaks out a lot. I am the same lol. Seriously if something's going wrong I freak out real bad for like 5 minutes and then I'm over it xD

Other then them I can't really think of one character that I relate to a lot. That's probably why I don't have a favorite character yet xD But I relate to bits and peices of other characters so here's that

Definitely Ruby, I can't control my anger and outbursts, (Because of my BPD)
I have a hole in the wall from me punching it in.
I also get really anxious and have trouble acting calm and coordinated.

I hope you're in a better place with your BPD just now.

Oh thank you! I've been going to Therapy every Wednesday, my medication has been helping out a lot as well.

Honestly, I'm not even sure which gems I identify with, so excuse the upcoming rambling. 

Amethyst in a lot of ways is incredibly insecure and so are Rose and Peridot. I do very much identify with those aspects of them. Amethyst also feels as if she isn't good enough in a lot of ways and a lot of the time, I feel the same in my life. 

Pearl as we've seen and has been previously mentioned has a lot of anxiety which I share. 

Garnet...she sees so sure of herself and what she is doing is right. I aspire to be more like her. 

Lapis is distrusting because she's been hurt and betrayed and so have I.

Um, i really don't know. the character I relate most to on the show is connie.

There's nothing wrong with identifying with Connie xD

Peridot: The general inclination towards knowing things, sometimes having odd phrases, and towards not realizing that something is wrong sometimes unless someone points it out, aha. The sometimes unfortunate phrasing that can lead others to not know what I'm talking about. Watching one episode of a show on repeat for days. Making meepmorps. Critical thinking regarding interactions with those that might have power over you in a work setting as in not being afraid to suggest new things/make it clear that things are not being handled in the right way. Being scared of a lot of things and also being short, im 5'3 so just a bit below average but still the people in ,y school are giants.Also because we've both been cqlled sassy?? idk but hey the more u know i guess?

Also because Pearl is a very by the books, rule following character. There's more but it's 11:00 here so I'm blanking, aha !! whoops

I also relate to most of the gems in the sense that I, too, am a nonbinary individual with a usually feminine appearance although I would honestly die to be in a tux, but theyre too expensive and im not out as nonbinary to my parents and AGH i just really want to wear a suit and a bowtie not dresses.

Let's see, it's been a while since I answered, so, 

I'm definitely identifying with Steven and Amethyst lately when it comes to the whole "not feeling good enough, that you're worth anything, and will never measure up." This is pretty much the basis for a lot of my life and how I feel about myself most of the time.

I feel you - but you know what? It's definitely not true. Take a step back and find new and true ways to see your self worth.

I agree with a lot of your sentiments revolving around Amethyst's, Pearl's, and Steven's inadequacy, but can I branch from the norm and say that after Steven, Alexandrite is my favorite gem, and I feel like I am similar to her because she literally embodies Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl. She has to work hard sometimes to 'keep it together' but when she is in her game she is a force to be reckoned with. She cares deeply for the people around her and that can sometimes come out ferociously. These are traits I see in me ^^

Steven is who I strive to be, Alexandrite is who I am.

Pearl but I have a system like Amethyst. -_-

I mostly identify with Jasper. The way I see it, is that she puts up a tough front, but is extremely insecure on the inside.
