[Theory] The Real Reason Why Fusion is Frowned Upon

We know that fusion is frowned upon by Homeworld gems because only "weak, servant/slave" gems fuse to become merely bigger (and by that extension, "stronger"). But there may be more to it than that.

It may be that different types of gems fusing together could become an ultra-powerful being that can easily overpower a Diamond. Diamonds can't have that, now can they? They'd be overthrown in seconds and their status would mean nothing. So to deter gems from doing this, the Diamonds taught that fusion was what losers do that do not have much power in the first place, like Rubies.

I mean, even though it's wrong, the Cluster supports this notion. The Cluster is a massive forced fusion of tons and tons of gems that was intended to be so huge and powerful that the Earth would be obliterated in seconds if it came to be. If fusion is for the "weak" and "losers", why would the Diamonds want the Cluster to even be a thing? It causes misery for the gems involved yes, but it's still attempting to apply the same principle that if multiple gems fuse together they can become an extremely powerful force to be reckoned with. I mean, just look at Alexandrite alone - that's 5 gems together.

It could honestly be a control thing. We've seen in many regimes that people are taught that things that could save them, are evil, bad, don't do it. 

The cluster though is...kinda I think similar but not at the same time. It's so many partial gems looking for their other pieces that I think they just expend so much energy that is chaotic and not controlled like in a normal fusion, that's why it destroys the earth.

I agree on control thing. In home worlds as few we know there are strict rules, functions and social classes.A fusion can give you new perspectives and experiences. That would give gems too much will power and individuality to begin to question Diamonds and be harder to control. Maybe even give base for revolution against Diamonds and their ways.

I think they are also very structure with classes like you said, because its order. How would Gems fusing all the time, creating different gems be classified? It seems like chaos to me.

And we know that chaos is hard to control. Just like ,millions of gems making individual decisions or doing stuff outside the box - in that case outside of what they were made for mostly. Like Pearl.
