| So I was listening to some old Bing Crosby hits on YouTube mix, and I came across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jgoYIVneKgThis little song is the theme to an old cartoon series I used to watch when I had it on DVD. Little Lulu. When I heard the opening notes, I started smiling and singing along. I hadn't seen hide nor hair of this mischievous little girl in years, and saw that I could find the whole series of shorts on YouTube. Little Lulu was originally a character created for the Saturday Evening Post by cartoonist Marjorie Buell, who drew under the pseudonym "Marge." From 1943-1948, Famous Studios, which grew out of the more well-known Fleischer Studios (the same company who made Popeye, Betty Boop, and the Superman cartoons), made a series of theatrical shorts featuring the character. I think she's adorable. I might end up drawing her, or perhaps you could give it a try. What do you guys think? |
