Steven Universe 3/17 Crack the Whip

EDIT: Wow! What an episode! It was sad and it was epic all at once. My heart breaks for Amethyst. I PRAY she gets an arc where she comes out stronger. I don't like her being kicked around and then not getting anything special for her to help make her feel better :(

She is :( She's our Amethyst!

And a Stevonnie battle is what we've all been waiting for and I want to see more of. They do need to put an end to Jasper - she needs to stop running.

Also, it was a bit concerning watching Amethyst reform... I wonder if in a sense, she's battling corruption. She's battling the negative emotions that are tearing her mind when can corrupt her. Which puts a new spin on the Diamond bomb during the war...

My poor heart.

That really got to me. I have lots of thoughts. Don't know what to do with them. Someone send help

Poor bby Amethyst, I love her so much. She's really going through some things, and its actually personally difficult for me to watch her go through this kind of downward spiral.

We all need to go and hug the Amethyst =(

On non-Amethyst things - seeing Stevonnie fight was a treat <3 I really enjoyed that. And it's both amusing and kind of strange to see Jasper take the role of Team Rocket lol Constant fight and then back off and fight!!! and back off. But she'll be back!

Also: "Pearl-fect."

I sure hope she's not battling corruption! I think the crewniverse showed her regenerating like that to show how desperate Amethyst was to come back and protect Steven and Connie. And when they didn't need her, well...

....Woah, I didn;t think of Ames getting corrupted. I hope not!

Also, Lion made a cute grump face when Stevonnie battled Jasper and her beast.


This episode was great. Amethyst gave good advice to the kids, but...stealing donuts as Lars was odd. Funny, but odd.

Still, even with that, when the Brown Beast showed up, she was instantly on it and poofed it in no time flat.

I was sad at the end as well. Ames deserves some love and I hope Rebecca sees that. I hope there is an Arc as well.

Idk - Ame corruption was a fleeting thought D: scary thought.

The thing is though, Steven and Connie DID need Amethyst, a LOT, but Amethyst just didn't see it. She showed them how to be chill and not tense and to just go for it. She totally saved them with the first monster. She did her very best against Jasper :( she's amazing and I love her.

I just rewatched it! And I'm wondering...

Why did Jasper say "You could have been me."

What if Rose took Amethyst out of the ground early?

:o If that were true, it would give an entirely new meaning to Rose saying that Amethyst was perfect just the way she was. A sort of guilty kind of thing to say to someone who you just messed up =(

I've always been getting these sort of 'sinister' vibes from Rose, especially recently and it makes me sad and sooooo curious!! Rose, what did you do?? She could be completely innocent but with all these little words and phrases from other characters thrown here and there, it's hard to not want to inspect Rose a little more (even more than before, anyway xD)

This episode was definitely a heartwrenching one, especially with Amethyst having to face her feelings once again. The whole ordeal between her and Jasper really left me crying a river because I really felt for her, and that she really didn't deserve such a torment from Jasper. Luckily she, with the help of Stevonnie was able to make it through, but it caused her to reform, and see herself as not as strong as the others, which I personally can relate to at some aspects of my life.

I agree with everyone so far that Amethyst does deserve some happy episodes so she can learn and grow from this experience, instead of being depressed.

Also, the whole her possibly becoming corrupted is a far fetched idea, but it is an interesting one.

I give this episode a good 9/10. Certainly one of the best in recent months. The ending is really the only thing I disliked, but I think it's leading up to something more with Amethyst. Stevonnie's fight scene was awesome.

Ok I just gotta ask, who else called Steven and Connie eventually using Stevonnie to fight?! Because I sure did and I'm glad they came through with it!!! I love love love Stevonnie and seeing her be all BAMF and kicking Jaspers butt just made me lover her more!!

Also, Jaspers new obsession over fusion is giving me the heebie jeebies. What if she decides to fuse her "army" together and form another smaller cluster? Those gems she's collecting could be in serious danger.

I kind of thought about it, but I was still utterly surprised when they did. And I completely am with you on Jasper, girl is making me feel uncomfortable with her actions, especially when she twisted that gem out of one of the corrupted beasts. Just seeing that made me cringe.

I am just struck all over again by the fact that Amethyst tried so hard to come back to Steven and Connie as soon as possible. Precious darling =(

Is it, though? Garnet has told us that corruption is tearing of the fabric of the mind. Whose to say that Amethyst couldn't be corrupted due to her depression, feeling worthless, ridicule she receives, etc.?

I think we've been told that Amethyst came out of the ground too late rather than too early and that is why we have a small Amethyst. Too early is an interesting thought, though!

Poor Amethyst! She really needs something to help boost her self-esteem and self-confidence after this.
