Bubbled was such a disappointing season finale. First of all, it begins with seeing 4 of the innocent rubies float away in space. That's really disheartening considering each and every one has a unique personality and their own traits.
But then, the show decided to develop Eyeball a bit more, because she was also there when PD got shattered. Here's when the salt begins. First of all, she was LITERALLY THERE when it happened, that's a perfect set up for a homeworld-perspective flashback, someone who gives Steven the entire details and doesn't care about keeping the truth from him. But no, instead we just get a complete 180 when it seems like Eyeball was turning into a likable character and sort of getting redeemed in that little bubble.
The fact that she suddenly wanted to kill Steven just because she was convinced he was Rose, was so out of nowhere. Her line ' it's too late! i already made up my mind' put me off so much, it's like the writers were like 'but why are we making her kill Steven if she probably won't be able to get back?!' but no, they decide to stick with what in my opinion was a stupid decision and then decide to completely get rid of the character, at least for now.
Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl saving Steven was a bit obvious, but what really ticked me off is how Garnet just simply confirmed PD's death again. No. Other. Details. Like, why are you doing this?! This has already been stated two times before. Yeah, she stated that it had to be done bla bla, but I feel like they're still desperately trying to protect Steven from the truth, and for what?!
Man, I'm so salty! That episode really left me distasteful, and I'm honestly feeling a bit distant from the show lately, especially because what I thought was gonna be a climactic finale was just another regular episode which honestly can be summed up in a couple sentences. Hopefully, things pick up the pace again soon enough, because I don't want to lose my love for the show.
Nonetheless though, Bubbled had stunning visuals, but that's all I can say about it really.
