Pearlrose Thread

So do we have any Pearlrose shippers here? I know I am!

I'm very curious to see why things didn't work out for them, especially when it's been confirmed that it was requited love between Rose and Pearl.

I personally thing you could say it was result of gem culture they came from. Rose as we know her was kind person who cared about other gems but I don't think she understood Pearl's feeling for her and their nature even when they spent so many years together.

For Rose it could be simple adoration she was experiencing from many gems Pearl like many other gems was not only adoring Rose but also they were putting her above themselves. It's no surprise  Rose was putted by many gems and later many humans on pedestal like a Goddess. She was the perfection in many ways, as a leader, gem and mentor.

Not to mention in hierarchy in gem culture she was very high and as much on earth they tried to create different policy about many things but as we see in show even now a lot of home world ways and programming still is within gems. They all adored her and looked up to her. For on reason or an other. And honestly I can easily see humans she had interaction with looking at her in similar ways. At something better them.

And I say something instead someone because I think Greg was first one to treat her as a person. He loved and adored her but he looked at her as his equal. Whats showed her more perspective and mor Earth mentality and ways.

An other thing on their way was Rose couldn't be sure of nature of Pearl's feelings.  I don't say Pearl didn't loved her in honest way but problem is Pearl had programmed deeply need of owner she would be very loyal to. Blindly loyal even as we saw in Sworn to the Sword. In the song and what Garnet showed to Steven.



Also in Rose's Scabbard episode we saw how Pearl looks at Rose and how much Rose meant for her. Look at her body language look how Pearl looks at Rose. Even after around 13 years since her death Pearl really wants to be somebody Rose would be proud of and could relay on. Rose was everything for her. And even if rebellion meant forsaking everything else Pearl wanted to do it for Rose. There was one problem through. Rose couldn't tell if it was really what Pearl wanted or was it dictated by the way Pearls are programmed/made. But Rose accepted her loyalty and adoration no matter how blind and die-hard this feelings were.



But I say this after all Pearl learned and how much she has grown now she and rose would have way better chances to create healthy and adorable relationship that wouldn't be toxic for any of them. Which would be cool to see <3

I think, in knowing that Rose Quartz did return Pearl's feelings that it went way of the "master/servant" romance that blossoms. Or, in today's terms, "boss/secretary". That's one possibility.

In my head, I like to think Rose Quartz sort of...saved Pearl. Cause she's a defective. Who wants her? Who wants a broken Pearl? But Rose took her in and treated her differently. And Rose found something special within this Pearl, a la Chobits, maybe.

The fact that Rose reciprocated Pearl's feelings is a big deal. Cause right now and even without the knowledge, we know Pearl(s) most likely fall for their masters due to how they're meant to be programmed. This is why I think Pearl is really into Garnet - who is the current leader of the Crystal Gems.

Yes. Rose for sure saved Pearl. She created the ground where Garnet, Amethyst and Steven can influence Pearl and help her grow into better gem.

Relation of Pearl with Granet was for a moment kind of natural need from Pearl. She has programmed that she has to serve somebody. That she needs to belong to somebody. She needs a leader and the owner. That is until Sardonyx week where Pearl found her own pride to be her own gem. That she don't have to belong to somebody to have her value and meaning.

One way or an other Rose begin that process. She give Pearl chance to go through tat journey to find her own worth.

Anybody on board with this? Especially after the latest episode/Pearl's character development?

I have been on board since some of the earliest episodes when it was apparent that Pearl had feelings for her xD But that feeling as gotten stronger as the series has gone on <3

But this latest episode, was just Oh Pearl, you precious string bean <333

There's so much angst in this pairing, and so much that we have yet to learn, but I want to learn it all even as it breaks my heart
