Dushan (Sausserite) [APPROVED]

Note: Dushan jade is not actually a type of jade. It's actually entirely compromised of "Sausserite". Due to it's appearance however, Dushan jade is often used as a substitute for actual types of jade. However though Dushan jade is actually Sausserite. Sausserite is not actually considered a true mineral because it is made up of, zoisite, epidote, sericite, albite or other sodium rich feldspar along with possibly scapolite. These factors are where much of my inspiration came from.

Name: Dushan (Sausserite, which is what the Diamonds and other Diamond Authority upper elites referred to Dushan as, though in recent years Dushan has come to like the name Dushan).
Race: Gem
If Gem, Type of Gem: Dushan Jade (Sausserite), not sure what gem type means, however on Homeworld Sausserite is classified as a "Failed Forced Fusion Experiment".

Appearance:

Physical Appearance (without clothing): Her body is made up of a hard plate like version of her gem, giving her skin color the same colorization as her gem. On her skin are black and white etchings that intertwine and form themselves upon her body. Dushan also has no face and she has no hair.

Height: 6'3 ft/1.8350 Meters

Actual Appearance (as she would appear to everyone else): Dushan wore a combination of robes and armor. The armor and robes intertwined often, the robes covering the armor occasionally, and vice versa. The armor and robes were colored gold, green and black. At the center of her chest her gem can be seen. Over her armor and robes, she always had a thick tattered and worn black cloak draped over her body, with holes and tears in it. The cloak is long and extends to her feet, dragging across the ground. The cloak has a unique gold clasp bearing the insignia of the Diamond Authority.  The cloak had a black hood which she typically wore up. It is important to note that her entire body is covered in armor or cloth of some kind. Her hands and even her face. Her face is wrapped with multiple types of scarves and rags. With at least three scarves with each being a different color of gold black and green.

Personality: Dushan is a cool headed and quiet individual in public. Polite and courteous when spoken to. Often elaborate with their dictation and manner of speaking. Alongside this rather quiet demeanor, Dushan has a very dry sense of humor, though they rarely joke. Inside they harbor deep insecurities about who they are and what they are capable of. Dushan believes themselves to be very weak in comparison to others, unable to compete with them due to her handicaps. Though Dushan is never afraid to act, and is always prepared to jump headfirst into conflict. Thus, they have a willingness to test themselves, and a drive to accomplish and overcome, despite their insecure beliefs in what they can do. Thus despite their cool headed appearance, they do not respond well to those who would seek to subdue them. Letting their ambitious drives overwhelm their steady outward appearance. When pushed in this way Dushan becomes vicious, cold, and vengeful. They will use their analytical and strategical mind to break down others systematically. Finding patterns and taking advantage of their flaws with their skillset. Often letting this desire to defeat those who have challenged them to consume their thinking. Alongside this, Dushan holds deep and entrenched loyalties to those they side with.

History: Created close to 900 years before the Gem War. Dushan's purpose was to be the first "Autonomous Forced Fusion Gem" ever created. Having recognized the power of cross fusion (fusion between two different types of gems), but believing it was not for "civilized" gem society to practice. The Diamonds wanted to create a super soldier that would help the Diamonds dominate the cosmos. On top of this, the gem was designed to have peak skill in terms of leadership and strategy. Dushan was supposed to be physically and mentally the greatest commander the Diamonds would ever see other than themselves.

They did not get what they expected.

Dushan, or Sausserite as they were called. They could not fully form themselves, and thus had no face. Also being formed with numerous physical handicaps that limited them significantly. With only a few outstanding characteristics physically, disappointed, the Diamonds wrote off Sausserite (Dushan) as a failure. Deciding to make new plans to create what they wanted. Despite the fact all mental capabilities were adequate or exceptional, with some very powerful mental capabilities in tow. Sausserite (Dushan) was promptly thrown into the lower ranks of the Diamond Authority's army as a foot-soldier. Though over the course of the next 900 years Sausserite (Dushan) rose to the rank of lieutenant. Then, in the gem war, Dushan (Sausserite) saw their chance to finally prove themselves.

Though it can be said Dushan fought the hardest of the soldiers in the gem war. Rose Quartz was too brilliant when it came to the art of battle. Given Dushan had limited control of the fighting happening around them. They could not save the fight as it collapsed around them. Retreating with the others, their unit annihilated. Dushan watched as the gem bomb cracked over the atmosphere of the Earth. Corrupting the gems below.

Vowing personally to descend and retrieve Rose Quart's gem themselves. Dushan returned to the surface of the planet. Dushan has since wandered the Earth in search of Rose Quartz, their resolve hardening over the centuries. Eventually, Dushan built a home in the Himalayas, nearby an old Authority Command Center. Which is the central hub for their search.

Gem Weapon:
Dushan has two sets of weapons:
The first one is her primary sword she keeps in her gem. Which has been with her since before the gem war. It is of fine craftsmanship, clearly made by the Authority. The sword is a Dao, with two scarves at the end. With this blade (and only this blade), Dushan is capable of swinging powerfully enough that powerful shockwaves are unleashed.

Dushan's second set of weapons they wear on their hips. They are two Jian's, though the blades have varying qualities. Like one has a tassle and has a more elegant design, whereas the other is very basic. The Jian's have no other exemplary qualities that can be seen outright.

Gem Special Abilities:

While Dushan has several powerful abilities at their disposal. They also have many handicaps to follow with them.

Special Abilities:
1. Dushan is capable of refined telepathy. Able to read the thoughts of others on a whim. While also being able to speak exceptionally well to others with this power. This ability only goes as far to gems however. Dushan cannot read or speak to humans through their minds.
2. Dushan is cable of seeing in all directions for 100 yards. In this 100 yard range, Dushan can perceive things in the air or on the ground. Albeit things like walls or large hills can obstruct this. Though they can still hear some things around walls using their sonar. While they do not physically make any noises by themselves. Dushan is known for finding ways to make noise so that they can see. Though things as light as a footstep will be enough usually. This ability was refined during their younger years after their initial creation. Otherwise Dushan would be incapable of seeing.
3. Aside from these powerful abilities, the only other abilities Dushan possess are their mind. They were formed with the knowledge of how to fight extremely well, and with a tactical and strategical mind for combat. As was their intended purpose.

Handicaps:
1. Dushan is extremely easy to shatter. This is because they cannot reform after they are poofed. This is because Dushan is not as easy to poof in the first place. Whereas most gems are constructs of light, and therefore a simple swipe of a blade can cut through them like butter. Dushan is made out of a hard material, and is a material entity. This means however once Dushan's body is broken beyond repair. They are broken forever. Therefore this doesn't give them many chances to make mistakes. Though their "skin" can heal, it is hard like porcelain and is very fragile.
2. Dushan cannot fuse, because their body is not compatible for it.
3. Dushan cannot stretch their body into new forms like other gems.
4. Dushan cannot create bubbles

Note: The concept for this character, is that though they are a capable and powerful fighter. Dushan is a wet noodle at nearly everything else. Dushan was bred for warfare and warfare only. For the past 5,900 years they have only known warfare. They cannot read social cues, and they have no experience with human culture. Given the environment Steven Universe is set in, which is a lot of social situations. I felt like this character was a good fit because of how much they struggle with relationships and interacting with others, plus their own personal dilemmas which they cannot work through by themselves. I hope you love Dushan, feel free to add criticism wherever possible.
