[Theory] Pink Diamond and Lion

So I was scouring the Pink Diamond tag on tumblr and after reading a few theories I have a theory of my own.

So one person said it's possible that Rose was CREATED for a rebellion. This is a long shot but if you think about it, she's a warrior that has the ability to heal, and she was armed with the classic sword and shield which in most stories symbolizes a hero. She had the personality to rally a rebellion too. It's possible that Pink Diamond didn't like what the other Diamonds were doing to other planets and wanted to rebel. But she knew that if she rebelled that it wouldn't rally other gems to her cause because they would all think that it was just a spat between diamonds. A feud between royalty gems that would end up costing the lives of good hard working gems.

Which is why she created Rose. A warrior gem would have a much easier time gathering other gems to rebel against Homeworld because they would see her as one of them. One of the lower classes gems that wants to fight back against the patriarchy. She would gather a much bigger following that Pink Diamond ever could.

But it wasn't enough. The gems that could help them the most didn't believe Rose was REALLY in it for the long fight. They wanted her to prove to them that she was willing to do anything for the rebellions cause.

So Pink Diamond and Rose came up with a plan for Rose to shatter PD, and then use her healing tears to bring her back in secret. Pink Diamond martyred herself for the rebellion and it made Rose look good to anyone else wanting to join the rebellion. It was the perfect plan.

But when it came time for Rose to bring PD back, she couldn't. She could only heal the physical damage done to her gem, but not the mental.

PD became a corrupted Gem. And Lion is her corrupted form.

It would further support Rose's borderline obsession with learning how to heal corrupted gems. It would explain why Lion is pink. It would explain why Lion holds some of Rose's personal items within his mane. And it would kind of explain why Lion is so attatched to Steven. Because it's PD and somewhere in her corrupted mind she knows that Steven is Rose's son.

I REALLY like this theory! The pieces all fit together. I just feel like Lion would need to have a gem on him of some sort for this to be real. Or maybe not? It may be that diamonds are so advanced that part of them lives on even without a piece of a gem.

Also, this theory would explain why Rose kept Lion a secret to the Crystal Gems. She didn't want them catching on.

Interesting! Lion's such a mystery, there's clearly things yet to learn about him.
Also, let's have a look at the only image we've seen of PD.

Pink Diamond mural:

We only se her profile, but even then we can tell than her hair is large and spiky. Like someone else we know.

Lion:

The more I think of it, Lion's mane really has the same shape but reversed. (The spikes going from the face instead of framing it.) Though this could just be a coincidence or red herring.

Wait! How do you know? Is this another theory or has already been determined? A relationship between lion and PD is feeling stronger by the minute!
